Played Hecate, a small part in Shakespeare’s Macbeth that was expanded to act as a sort of Greek chorus, observing all the main action. Produced by Monroe County Civic Theater. Directed by Sheila Butler. Performed at Third Street Park in Bloomington, IN. View photos.
I am so excited about the soundtrack I’ve put together with the direction of Sheila Butler for Macbeth. It was great to mine my music collection and get some gems from the library, too. She’s got some great ideas for looping bits and pieces to create a soundscape.
I got to select the music for pre-show, intermission, and post-show on my own and I’m all smug and self-satisfied. Turns out I have a lot of songs on my iPod that would be appropriate for murder and mayhem! Here are the playlists:
Burning Down the House – Talking Heads
Fly on the Windscreen – Depeche Mode
The Lunatics – Fun Boy Three
Trust in Me – Siouxsie and the Banshees
Every Day is Halloween – Ministry
Just One Kiss – The Cure
Gingerbread Coffin – Rasputina
Candyman – Siouxsie and the Banshees
The juxtaposition of Sinatra and the Sex Pistols makes me laugh but I couldn’t resist. Can’t wait to hear how this sounds blasted in the park!
